rofiGen, a company that turned 20 in 2016, has been intensively con-
tributing towards tobacco farming, and offers constant technolog-
ical innovations to the market through conventional genetic engi-
neering of tobacco cultivars. The purpose of this work consists in
developing hybrid cultivars that are more profitable for the farmers
and for the tobacco industry. In order to achieve this objective, the company
enhances its cultivars through the introduction of resistances against diseases
and the selection for different cultivation conditions, that lead to crop stability,
thus providing the farmers with higher productivity rates and quality.
