Support action by rural
producers inWestern
Bahia contributed
towards transforming the
situation of thousands
of people in the region
A social program run by the rural producers in Western
Bahia, through their entity, known as Aiba, more precisely
through the Aiba Institute, has already consolidated in the
region, achieving relevant results and transforming the re-
alities of the needy people, especially children and young
people. The Fund for Integrated and Sustainable Develop-
ment of Bahia (Fundesis), in 10 years has invested amounts
of money that reach R$ 3.5 million and helped transform
upwards of 50 thousand lives, said Luiz Pradella, acting
president at Aiba and Fundesis, in September 2017, when
agreements were signed for a new in-
vestment of R$ 600 thousand in more
than 21 projects, based in ninemunic-
ipalities in the region.
Implemented in partnership with

ing resources, the program has registered a
broader participation of the farmers. “It is
agribusiness doing its part to contribute to-
wards a better world”, said the Aiba official.
On her part, Ana Barreto, BNB businessman-
ager at the Bahia State Superintendence, ex-
pressed the institution’s pride in taking part
of the project, which “goes beyond social
responsibility, and puts solidarity and reci-
procity into practice”.
Makena Thomé, coordinator at Fundesis,
reinforced the roleplayedby the rural produc-
ers, “without them the fund would not exist.
This fundhappens tobe themain transforma-
tion agent, bringing visible and better results
for the region, from economy strengthening
to human development”. She insisted on the
seriousness and the extension of the social
program, which follows closely all benefited
entities, training administrators and is always
in search of better results “improving knowl-
edge, and reflections , whilst the evolution of
the human beings, strictly speaking, trans-
forming people and society”, she concluded.
To pay homage to all those who contribute
towards the fund, on that occasion she hand-
ed over the trophy “Community Friendly Pro-
ducer” to representative Elisa Zanella.
The Social Fund of Western Bahia financ-
es initiatives to different projects in commu-
nity life, especially on the outskirts of ur-
ban areas of the various municipalities of
the region. Support is given to such areas as
health, education, culture, sports, social and
digital inclusion, as well as entrepreneur-
ship, sustainability and income generation,
not only benefiting directly people and com-
munities, but offering stimulus and support
for continued development.
