PROJEÇÕES
Para os próximos 10 anos, projeções do Departamento de
Agronegócios (Deagro) da Federação da Indústria do Estado de
São Paulo (Fiesp) identificam elevação de 40% na produção do
biocombustível no País.
mix
final na ordemde 57%para
etanol e 43% para açúcar.

Sugar mills produce more
sugar and reduce
the amount of ethanol
DIFFERENCES
Data surveyed by Unica in the biggest producing region, from
April to November 2016, confirm, in general, the national trends
pointed out by Conab, but at different rates, especially as far as
ethanol goes, with a smaller total reduction (4.83%). In the pro-
duction of sugarcane, increases are similar, 3.87% and 18.1%,
in sequence, whilst in anhydrous there is an increase of 4.87%,
with hydrated ethanol showing the smallest variation in reduc-
tion (10.91%). The entity equally registers a market evolution in
biofuel over the period, which internally corresponds to the pro-
ductive movement, whereas at exports a reduction occurs, with
smaller available amounts. Regarding the final forecast of the
sugarcane crop, with equally an increase in the main produc-
ing area in the Center-South (4.5%), Unica was attesting to the
opposite in November, with chances to fall short of the inferior
limit projected in April for the region, of 605 million tons. Up to
that moment, processing was outstripping the processing of the
previous period, but harvesting was anticipated and more mills
were finishing their cane crushing before the usual time. Further-
more, productivity was slightly down.
PROJECTIONS
For the next 10 years, projections released by the Agribusiness
Department (Deagro) of the São State Industry Federation (Fiesp)
identify a 40-percent increase in the production of biofuel in the
Country. The consumption of hydrated ethanol is reckoned to go
up 68%, and anhydrous, l0%. The production of sugar is believed
to soar 19%, withexports goingup25%, whilst domestic consump-
tion is supposed to rise 6%. With regard to the production of raw
material, Fiesp is estimating a variation of 27% over the period,
with a final mix of 57% for ethanol and 43% for sugar.
